Cowling Moonrakers:
A group of local people, with a passion for local
history. The Moonrakers met up for the first time on Thursday 6th January
2003 at the Bay Horse Public house in Cowling. The evening was a great
success with a large group of people turning up on a cold wet night to
talk and listen to tales of the village. The meeting went so well that it
was decided that a meeting would be held on the first Thursday evening of
each month starting at 8pm.
Ambition
Our aim is to better understand the Cowling
village of the past. It's people, places, villages and events. This
website is one way of recording these discoveries into the insights of the
past.
